He graduated from the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice, where he studied Composition with Edward Bogusławski and Aleksander Lasoń and Piano with Wojciech Świtała and in 2004 obtained the diplomas cum laude. Simultaneously, he studied Music Theory, which he completed two years later.
From 2014 to 2018 he held the position of Deputy Director of the Orchestra of the Royal Capital City of Cracow Sinfonietta Cracovia. He is also Director of the Grzegorz Gerwazy Gorczycki International Festival, one of Poland’s biggest music festivals. In the period 2009-2014 he was the manager of AUKSO Chamber Orchestra of the City of Tychy. In the period 2013-2017 he held the position of Director of the AUKSO Young Philharmonic.
Not only is Adam Wesołowski an effective culture manager, but also a composer. For his numerous achievements in both fields he has received the Award of the Marshal of the Silesian Province for the promotion and protection of cultural assets. He is also a winner in numerous composing competitions – he won the 1st prize in the A. Dvořák International Composition Competition in the Czech Republic, as well as he is a two-time winner of the Adam Didur All-Poland’s Composition Competition.
Adam Wesołowski is a member of the Polish Composers’ Union. He has composed over 50 pieces and arranged over 100. They are performed in Poland as well as abroad during numerous concerts and festivals: Festival Pablo Casals (France), the A. Dvořák Festival (Czech Republic), the Jan Kiepura European Festival, the La Folle Journée de Varsovie Festival, International Days of Odessa (Ukraine), AUKSO Summer Philharmonic, Silesian Tribune of Composers, Polish Film Festival in Gdynia, Festival of Virtuosity and Musical Joke, Mikołów Music Days Festival, the Adam Didur Festival, New Music Festival, Classic Meets Pops (Germany), the G.G. Gorczycki International Festival. Adam Wesołowski’s compositions can be heard in dozens of seasonal concerts of such ensembles as the National Philharmonic, the Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra, the Orchestra of the Royal Capital City of Cracow Sinfonietta Cracovia, the AUKSO Chamber Orchestra of the City of Tychy, Tanzformation oraz Wiener Opernball Orchester, the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice, the National Philharmonic Orchestra in Odessa, German Brass, Viener Kammersymphonie, Morphing Chamber Orchestra Vienna, NFM Leopoldinum – Chamber Orchestra, Orchestra of the Silesian Philharmonic, Polish Orchestra Sinfonia Iuventus, the Elbląg Chamber Orchestra, the Zabrze Philharmonic, Cracow Brass Quintet, Silesian Opera, Silesian Trombone Choir, Asasello Quartett.
Music by Adam Wesołowski is interpreted by distinguished soloists and conductors, such as e.g. Jerzy Maksymiuk, Hobart Earle, Massimiliano Caldi, Andriy Yurkevych, Marek Moś, Valeriy Sokolov, Alexander Humala, Uwe Theimer, Francesco Bottigliero, Łukasz Długosz, Marek Torzewski, Andrzej Lampert, Grażyna Brodzińska, Jurek Dybał, Maciej Miecznikowski, Piotr Sałajczyk, Szymon Bywalec, Justyna Steczkowska, Marcin Wyrostek, Krzysztof Cugowski, Marek Piekarczyk, Natalia Rubiś, Katarzyna Moś, Kasia Kowalska, Anna Rusowicz, Dorota Osińska, Krzysztof Kiljański, and many others.
His music has been played in such exquisite concert halls as the Berlin Philharmonic, the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice, the National Forum of Music in Wrocław, the Grand Theatre – National Opera in Warsaw, ICE Cracow.
Adam Wesołowski is the author of bugle calls of Radzionków and Świętochłowice, the bugle call of the European Economic Congress in Krynica, and of the J. Kiepura Festival in Krynica Zdrój.
His artistic output encompasses recordings for a number of CD albums, and his pieces are recorded for Radio Poland and the Polish Television.
